When a record is selected – Dataverse trigger flow not showing

Welcome back to all my blog readers. In today’s blog I am going to share with you my recent experience while working with Power Automate flows.

I have a model driven app which has a list of contacts for each account. I need a Power Automate flow which should run when a contact record is selected from the associated grid.

In the above screenshot the flow “contact_selected_record_flow” is with “When a record is selected” dataverse trigger.

However for one environment, when the record was selected the flow was not showing. I checked the flow and everything seemed ok with the flow configuration.

A bit of searching and I realized that the flow is inside a dataverse solution. Once I created the flow outside the solution, the flow started showing.

Remember – Power Automate flows with “When a record is selected” dataverse trigger shall only show up if you have created the flow outside the solution.

Now the question that arise – How do I export and import if not part of the solution. For these flows, you need to export and import using Power Automate.

Hope this helped. You will also like the below posts.

  1. What we all expect is:
    1. It should work also from solutions
    2. The trigger should be migrated to the new – green Dataverse connector

      Hi Robert,

      Thanks for reading my blog.

yes that’s what we are all waiting for. But unfortunately lot of requirement do exist today and still this is only there with the legacy.

Hence many has to fallback to the legacy connector time and again.
