Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. Today’s blog is on how to disable the data import feature for a user in model-driven apps/ Dynamics 365 apps.
Using the data import feature, users can create/ update records in model driven apps, provided they have create, write permission on those tables.
However sometimes you may not want that. You may not want users to import data through excel. Users however should be able to use the form for creating/ updating records.
But how to accomplish it? Just like other features of model driven apps, this feature too can be controlled using security role.
Open the security role of the user. Navigate to Core records tab and look for Data import table in the list.
Set the Create privilege to None as shown in the above screenshot.
Once done, save and close your changes. Next time when the user login, they will not be able to see the Data import option.
