Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. In today’s blog I will discuss a new preview feature recently released by Microsoft – Sequential approvals in Power Automate
You can find the feature release documentation here. In this demonstration I will show how you can create sequential approval from Teams.
Through my blog I share interesting tips and discuss on latest releases of Microsoft.NET technologies, Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, SharePoint and Client scripting libraries. Please subscribe to my blog to stay updated.
Navigate to Teams and open Approvals app.
Click on New Approval request
You should get the below dialog.
You now have a toggle – Require responses in the assigned order. If you enable the toggle, you now have the capability to assign approvers in sequence. Below illustration show how you can assign approvers in order and initiate an approval flow.
If you observe, a sequence step can have more than one approver. In the above illustration, the second step has couple of approvers.
Once the approval has been initiated, the approvers should receive the notification in their teams. Let’s see the approval notification in action.
Below is the illustration of notification received by the first approver in the sequence.
The approval notification give a clear picture of the approval sequence. This whole approval process will continue in sequence until the final approver(s) in the sequence has made their decision.
Hope this helped. For similar interesting topics on Microsoft.NET and Power platform, you can subscribe to my blog.
