Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. In today’s blog I will discuss about a frequently discussed topic – The capability to change the owner for Power Automate flows.
For a very long time, this was not possible. And as hard it is to believe, the only resort was to change the owner through legacy advanced find in Model driven apps or through Power Automate Web API.
Well, we can finally change the owner of Power Automate flow using the flow interface. Let’s explore how we can do that.
The first and the foremost thing you need to remember is that your flow should be solution aware. Owner assignment from the flow interface only work for solution aware flows.
I have a solution aware flow as shown in the screenshot below.
It is visible in My Flows section since solution aware flows are now visible in My Flows section too.
Open the flow details screen and click on the Edit button on Details section. This is pretty confusing. I was assuming that this feature should be available from the Edit button in Owners section.
In the new pop out window, you now have an option to change the owner of the flow.
Wonderful, isn’t it? No more using the Power Automate Web API to do this simple stuff.
As explained earlier, this only work for solution aware flows. For other scenarios where you need to change the owner of the flow, please follow this link.
