{Solved} Microsoft Power Apps Webpart in SharePoint showing borders.

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. In today’s blog I will show how you can get rid of the borders when you insert a Power App webpart in SharePoint.

Let’s get started. For this blog, I have created a very simple Power App canvas app and used the Microsoft Power Apps web part to insert the app on to the SharePoint form.

The app displays just fine. However I could notice a faint border on the right and bottom of the app similar to the below illustration.

My initial hunch was to fix the borders in the app. But when I checked, I could not find any border set for any of controls on the app.

A bit of search and I found that I need to disable ‘Lock Aspect Ratio’ to remove the border.

While in most cases it will solve the problem, in my case I could not disable it. It was an existing app and I could find the app was getting distorted a bit if I uncheck the property.

So what is the other way? Under Upcoming features -> Experimental there is a property – Optimize for embedding experience.

If you are embedding a Power app inside SharePoint or Power BI, this setting takes effect.

I enabled this setting. And this time when I published the app, the borders were no longer visible in SharePoint.

I hope this helped. If you have liked the post and if this post has helped you, please subscribe to my blog.
