Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. Today’s blog is on the network connection error you may receive when trying to upload a SPFx component in SharePoint and how to resolve the same.
Let’s get started. I have a SPFx list view command control which I want to upload as an App to my site collection. Below is the error I get when I try to upload.
While the error speak of network connection issue, it is quite misleading. The error usually come up when you have uploaded the same app package previously but have deleted it and later try to upload again.
Now the question arise, if the app has been deleted then how SharePoint is still able to reference it? When you delete an item in SharePoint, whether a file or an app, it ends in Recycle Bin of SharePoint.
But where exactly is this Recycle Bin of SharePoint? You should find it under Site Settings -> Site Collection Administrator
If I navigate to Recycle Bin, I can see the previous deleted app lying in there.
I go ahead and delete it. But even now when I try to upload the app, I receive the same error. Quite strange isn’t it?
Well, here is a secret. There is something called ‘Second-stage recycle bin‘. An item ends in ‘Second-stage recycle bin‘ it is deleted from recycle bin. The link to it show up in the status bar of the recycle bin page.
I navigate to this second stage recycle bin and delete the item from there.
Now when I go ahead and try to upload the package, it uploads successfully.
