In this blog, I will set-up Google authentication using the new PowerApps/ Dynamics 365 Portal identity provider configuration UI. If you are not aware of the preview feature, please visit the previous blog to know more about this new preview feature.
In the identity provider screen, we configure the Google provider.
Once we click on “Click to configure” option in Google, you would be taken to the below screen.
All these seems fine, so we click on “Next”. And you will be taken to the below screen. As you can see the Reply URL is automatically configured. Don’t forget to use the same value in the callback URL when you register the portal app in console.developers.google.com. I am skipping the section on how to register the portal with Google and get the client_id and client_secret.
Just copy and paste those value in the appropriate textboxes below.
You have some additional settings as well.
For example, I have set the scope as “email, profile” to pass the values to portal post successful authentication with Google.
Once you save these settings, the site settings will be automatically created in the portal and you shall be able to see the Google button option to sign in from the portal.
Hope this helps!
